My proposal:
My project is about how the night comes to life. I want my project to express this through a starry night sky with a full moon. But, instead of the stars, it will be fireflies twinkling and drifting along as audio plays in the background. After a duration, the fireflies will fly off the screen but one will fly toward the opposite direction and more up close. At this point, the music also begins to fade out and stop completely. Then, the camera will pan with the lone firefly until another moon appears on screen. Then, the “moons” will appear to be going through their different phases, mimicking a blink. When the firefly goes, its light will reveal that it is not two moons but the eyes of a barn owl watching the bug. The owl will then promptly eat the bug and close its eyes, leaving the screen black. The sources I plan to use for this project include an image of a full moon, a firefly, and piano music. The owl and the flickering lights in the sky will more than likely be made by me. The meaning behind this project is that I want to create this sense of awe while watching the glowing lights against a dark sky, only for the end to be a sudden reminder of what lurks at night.
