My statement:
My project is about how the night comes to life. I want my project to express this through a starry night sky with a full moon. And along with that will be fireflies twinkling and drifting along as audio plays in the background. After a duration, the fireflies will fly around towards the right side. The scene fades out and goes to black. Then, a firefly appears close up, flying along. While it flies, a bat swoops in and carries the firefly off. The sources I plan to use for this project include an image of a full moon, a firefly, cricket chirps, and piano music. The flickering lights in the sky are made by me. The meaning behind this project is that I want to create this sense of awe while watching the glowing lights against a dark sky, only for the end to be a sudden reminder of what lurks at night. In order to make this project, I used many sources from various sites that allowed the use of reusing images. For example, the background is from two different images: a source for the landscape and a source for the starry night sky. I just combined the two layers using masking. The floating fireflies were just stippling with the brush tool. And the music was found online, along with the cricket chirps. Together, I used these materials to emphasis the beauty of the night but also the potential danger that looms.
